Emergency Call Blue Light

learn mma at home

A public security plan should include an emergency call box. It is vital that it be available at all times. The Blue Light Emergency Phone Tower features a remote monitoring feature that sends an alert to the dispatcher whenever it requires maintenance. These emergency phone boxes are used on public squares, police stations, as well as college and university campuses. They can also be found at highways, waysides, and outside buildings. The International Telecommunication Union recommends DTMF signaling as the preferred mode of operation for the device.

High visibility

A high visibility emergency phone box is an option if you are concerned about campus safety. This latest version features a bright, visible blue light that is clearly visible to passersby. They are also compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. They also have flashing strobe light that alerts emergency personnel to your location.

Blue-light emergency telephones are perfect for high-risk sites such as parking lots, campuses, and medical centers. The phones can be easily installed without needing to dig into the ground. Your campus visitors won't be charged for any emergency calls because blue-light phone are free to use.

Connect to campus police dispatcher

The campus police dispatcher can connect you to help you in times of crisis on campus or to provide information about where to report suspicious activities. Campus patrols are available to respond to emergencies and non-emergency call, investigate suspicious activity, and take appropriate actions when necessary. Campus police officers are available 24/7, 7 days a week.

Police Dispatchers are civilian support positions within University Police Department. They work under the direction of the Lead Dispatcher or Associate Director of Police Support Services, and perform a variety of specialized and technical support duties. They are located in University Police Department's emergency communications centre.

Cost

The cost of emergency call box blue lights is rising as the technology used to call for help advances. University of Nebraska at Lincoln spent more than $1.7million on maintenance and installation of emergency blue lights. There is still controversy about whether or not the blue light boxes offer campus safety the best solution.

According to a University of Florida study, the blue light was activated 508 times. Of these, only 14 times was there a need for police action, and of these, only one was an emergency. In the same way, University of Central Florida has 260 Emergency Call Boxes on campus. Six percent of these needed police assistance. Many of these were vehicle-related. However, there are only fifty emergency call boxes at universities in South Florida and West Florida, which all have very low usage. One college pulled all emergency phone lines out of its campus due to lack of usage.

To scare away attackers, stun gun can also emit high pitched sounds. These stun guns are known as TASERs.
