Krav Maga is an ancient system of self-defense and combative self defense. The martial art was developed by an Israeli Martial Artist, Imi Lichtenfeild, in the 1940s, who taught various fighting systems to the Jewish community in Bratislava, Slovakia. His training enabled the Jewish community in Bratislava, Slovakia to defend themselves against the Nazis. Lichtenfeild returned to Palestine after the war and taught the underground army of Jews hand-to–hand combat techniques.
